Stamp and annotation
Stamping and annotations add small bits of content to the existing content of PDF pages. A stamp is a fixed visual mark placed on a page, whereas an annotation is an interactive element that lets users to move, resize, or remove the annotations if they are allowed to edit the resulting document in their PDF viewer. In the Conversion Service Configurator, you can configure the following types of stamps and annotations:
- Text
- Image
- Barcode
Add and configure stamps and annotations within a workflow by enabling Stamp and Annotation toggle in a specific profile configuration. For more details and procedures, review Configure stamping.
Workflow specific settings
Some workflows have special configuration settings for stamping. For example, you can configure the exact page on which you want to apply the stamp.

For Archive PDF/A-1, Archive PDF/A-2, Archive PDF/A-3 and Conversion workflows, you can select the page where the stamp or annotation will be applied. There are three options:
- All: The stamp is applied to all pages of all documents.
- First: The stamp is applied to the first page of the main output document. An error is triggered if the resulting document is a collection.
- Last: The stamp is applied to the last page of the main output document. An error is triggered if the output document is a collection.

In the Dossier workflow, you can choose to apply stamps to the table of contents pages.
