In June 2025, the Pdftools documentation included the following updates:

Added

• The documentation now includes release notes for the Pdftools SDK version 1.12.0, updated API reference links, and code samples.
• Pdftools SDK Shell Tool release notes version 1.8.0.
• The Toolbox add-on received release notes for version 1.8.0 with updated API reference links and code samples.
• Pdftools SDK licensing docs now include the Configure proxy and Operations sections.
• Conversion Service release notes for version 6.3.0 have been added. The following documents received an update:
  • Configure stamps and annotations documentation.
  • Stamp and annotation workflow documentation.
  • Minor updates in the Cryptographic providers.
  • Added two new troubleshooting sections in the Conversion Service Microsoft Office conversion documentation:
    • The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect (COM exception 0x8000401a).
    • Access is denied (COM exception 0x80070005)
• Conversion Service OCR documentation now includes online ABBYY license type information in the Activate ABBYY license section and related sub-sections.
• Licensing documentation now mentions that you can configure Conversion Service to be used in the containerized mode and links you to the Conversion Service Configure containers using Docker Compose documentation section, where you can find an example of Docker Compose YAML file that enables LGS containerized mode configuration.
• The Conversion Service Windows Server and Docker getting started guides now include an improved description explaining that you need to use fonts installed on your processing machine.
• PDF Viewer SDK documentation received version 5.6.0 release notes and updated API references.
• Legacy Toolbox SDK received patches version 4.4.10 and version 4.4.11.
• Enabled search through tags within documentation product areas. Tags will directly lead you to the referenced page. You can find the tags at the end of each page and list all tags within a product area. Tags are separate for each documentation area. The following list includes three main documentation product areas where the tags were added:
  • Pdftools SDK tags
  • Conversion Service tags
  • PDF Viewer SDK tags
  • Example: Try clicking on a tag like Merge and split PDFs at the end of a page to jump directly to related documents.
• LLMs.txt and LLMs-full.txt were added to provide LLMs with an easily parsable text format.

Changed

• In the Conversion Service documentation:
  • Conversion Service licensing documentation now mentions page credits instead of credits. This change can better explain the usage-based license key functionality (instead of X credits per page, we now state X page credits).
  • The Stamping workflow was renamed to Stamp and annotation.
  • The Warnings configuration section was renamed to Events.
  • The Document Optimization processing step (included in all PDF/A workflows) was renamed to Compression and Optimization.
• The What's new tag was removed from the What's new documentation area.

Fixed

• Links to the new Pdftools Portal have been updated. Despite the new Pdftools Portal, some products and license keys are only accessible in the legacy portal. Select which customer portal to access on the Select your login page.
• All pages in the Conversion Service Workflows documentation category received correct level headers, typo fixes, screenshot size adjustments, and other updates.
