In July 2026, the Pdftools documentation included the following updates:

Added​

  • Added release notes for AI Smart Redact version 1.1.0, which introduces job cancellation and deletion through the Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) web application and the APIs, job timeout settings, a semantic entity merge mode, and Grafana Cloud observability. Updated the related guides and API references, including Set up the HITL web application and Set up observability for AI Smart Redact.
  • Added release notes for Conversion Service version 6.12.2, a patch release that adds a displayName field to the Advanced API List available workflows endpoint and fixes conversion and Configurator issues.
  • Added release notes for Pdftools SDK version 1.19.0 and version 1.20.0, Toolbox add-on version 1.14.0 and version 1.14.1, and Pdftools SDK Shell Tool version 1.14.0.
  • Added two Pdftools SDK guides: Read barcodes from a PDF and Linearize a PDF.
  • Added release notes for PDF Viewer SDK version 5.17.0 and version 5.17.1 with updated API references. Version 5.17.0 introduces a theming manager with light and dark themes, an annotation eraser tool, and an alert for unsaved changes.
  • Added a Migrate from version 4 to version 5 guide for PDF Viewer SDK, covering breaking changes, API mappings, and code examples for upgrading to the version 5 architecture.

Fixed​

  • Fixed the Send a test OCR job instructions in the Pdftools OCR Service documentation to send the job before retrieving the result. The fix applies to the Docker, Linux, and Windows getting-started pages and the Monitor Pdftools OCR Service guide.
