In August 2026, the Pdftools documentation included the following updates:

Added​

  • Added release notes for PDF Viewer SDK version 5.18.0 with updated API references. Version 5.18.0 introduces counterclockwise page rotation in the thumbnails panel, a configurable annotation color palette through the annotationColors option, a popover for text highlighting, and fit-to-page mode as the default on mobile and tablet devices.
  • Added release notes for Pdftools SDK version 1.20.1 and Toolbox add-on version 1.14.2. The patch releases fix the color complexity calculation for images that use indexed color spaces and make native library extraction reliable for repackaged Java JAR files.
  • Added release notes for AI Smart Redact version 1.1.1, a patch release that fixes the version number displayed in the Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) web application.

  • Fixed many typos, improved sentence structure and wording consistency for better readability, and made accessibility improvements across the product documentation.
