In February 2025, the Pdftools documentation included the following updates:
Added
- All release notes, such as the Pdftools SDK, Toolbox add-on, Conversion Service, and the PDF Viewer SDK (both version 5 and version 4), received dates for each release. As a result, it is now clear when a release occurred from the release notes.
- Added new Python API references for the Pdftools SDK and the Toolbox add-on.
- This documentation now mentions that the Conversion Service supports Office 2024 (64-bit) for Microsoft Office file conversion. For more information, review Convert Microsoft Office files guide.
- The Update Conversion Service on Windows Server and Update Conversion Service in Docker guides received major updates in their structure and delivery.
- Conversion Service on Windows Server getting started guide and Conversion Service in Docker getting started guide were updated to properly display instructions for the new Pdftools Portal, including the details about the new trial license key use. Both guides also better explain what applications are installed using the Windows Server and Windows client installers.
- PDF Viewer SDK versions 5.2.0 and 5.3.0 release notes were added to the PDF Viewer SDK release notes.
Fixed
- All Pdftools SDK getting started guides received numerous fixes and updates. The initialization step was clearly marked as optional in all these guides. The initialization is necessary for commercial use, but optional for evaluating users. If you need to try the Pdftools SDK, you can do it without the initialization with watermarked results.
- Updated commands in the Full offline mode licensing documentation.
- Numerous typos were corrected, many broken links were fixed, and many more small updates were made in all areas of this documentation.
