In September 2025, the Pdftools documentation included the following updates:

Added

Changed

  • Removed references to languages that the Pdftools OCR Service doesn’t support. These languages include Arabic, Burmese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Farsi, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Latvian (written in Gothic script), Old English, Old French, Old German, Old Italian, Old Slavonic, Old Spanish, Pashto, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese, and Yiddish.

To request support for any of these languages, let us know using the contact page.

Fixed

  • Typo fixes, delivery, and style improvements in all pages within the Workflows category of the Conversion Service docs.
  • Updated the Algolia Search integration to the latest version and reimplemented its custom features. To open the search modal, use Ctrl + k on Linux or Windows, and + k on macOS.
Example custom search feature: When you search within a product area, such as Pdftools SDK, Conversion Service, or What’s new, the search displays results from that product area first.
  • Updated code sample downloadable links in the Guides category with links to newly added languages for each use case, making them more prominently visible. For example, the Archive a PDF document to PDF/A guide includes a visible admonition stating Quick start with a code sample with bold links to each sample, including C, Python, and Visual Basic.
  • Fixed the Conversion Service version selection menu from appearing on the What’s new page.
  • The llms.txt and llms-full.txt autogeneration issues.
