Tools which can merge documents with one or a few pages into larger documents and efficiently remove individual pages or page ranges from large documents are the fundamental pillars in document processing. In this way chapters are assembled into books, title pages are added, unwanted blank pages are removed and much more.

The task seems easy, but if we look at it more closely, we are surprised how demanding such a task can be. We can immediately understand that the  3‑Heights™ PDF Merge Split  component can properly treat bookmarks, named destinations, form fields and other helpful PDF features. The merging and splitting of PDF/A compliant documents while at the same time preserving the PDF/A conformance of the output, however, is not self-evident.

Additional features such as the addition of bookmarks and metadata, the burn‑in of form fields reduce the document preparation to a single processing step and make it easy and efficient.
