3-Heights™ PDF Printer: Much more than just a Printing-Software

The 3-Heights™ PDF Printer component is a lot more versatile and sophisticated than it might appear to be at first glance. By taking a closer look, you find a series of unique features. For example, it is used for the creation of searchable print data streams (see success story CSW) or in the derived component 3‑Heights™ PDF to EMF Converter to create EMF-files based on PDF pages (see success story List & Label).
Print data streams cannot only be used for actual printing, but also to write an entire print job to a file. In this manner PDF-files can be transformed to PostScript or PCL.
The component further offers a number of fundamental and advanced functions to make use of printer specific features, such as stapling or printing multiple pages on one paper.

Success Story

CSW integrates the 3-Heights™ PDF Printer in the ProForma Print Solution for Forms and Output Management at MM-Agrarversicherung

MM-Agrar’s challenge was to send unstructured documents to output printing and follow-up handling in a structured form, and then process the documents through an enveloping machine with OME reading. By using the 3-Heights™ PDF Printer, ProForma was further developed to read PDF documents in the Unicode format, and thereby ensuring that the content could be subsequently processed, even when the original PDF file itself did not contain any Unicode information.

Success Story

List & Label offers integration of highly complex PDF documents without format discontinuity thanks to the
3-Heights™ PDF to EMF Converter

In the middle of September, Combit presented the next generation of their report generator “List & Label 17”. An important new feature in this version is the new PDF-Object. It substantially accelerates form manipulation when complex, official forms are placed directly as PDF into existing reports, its fields are filled and the report is printed in the same step. The PDF-Object is realized using the 3‑Heights™ PDF to EMF Converter. Find out more about it in the complete success story.

Technical Note

“Automated Processing of PDF-Documents”

Stratoz GmbH designed a product that can be used for the fast entry of index information and display of the corresponding document using 3-Heights™ components of PDF Tools AG. End-customers can benefit from the solution by saving a lot of time and money in the processing of electronic and paper-based incoming documents.
